Dr. Gilo Kwesi Logan
Author, Educator, and Son of Chief Bill Logan

Dr. Gilo Kwesi Logan is an educator, author, father, and lifelong Evanstonian whose family legacy is rooted in public service and community leadership. The son of Chief William “Bill” Logan Jr., Evanston’s first Black police chief, he learned early that true leadership is defined by character, fairness, and care for others - not titles.
With over 25 years of experience working with youth, families, and educators across 24 countries, Dr. Logan has dedicated his life to creating spaces grounded in identity, belonging, and justice. Protecting a Dream honors his father’s legacy and reminds young people that dreams don’t just happen - they must be protected.
